“ICGN has always been a leader in shaping the future of corporate governance through its convening power, policy leadership, and investor collaboration. In my 25+ years in the industry, I see that the greatest need to focus on strong corporate governance and investor rights is now. With many structural shifts underway and a regional fracturing of direction, it will be my privilege to contribute and hopefully shape future state of play on global governance standards.”
Deborah Gilshan, Head of ESG and Stewardship, Europe at AustralianSuper (UK) Ltd & Founder of The 100% Club, United Kingdom said:
“Corporate governance and investment stewardship are crucial to successful long-term investment. The value offered by ICGN continues to grow and I am confident it will become an even more influential organisation in the years ahead. I welcome the opportunity to join the Board of Governors and contribute to strengthening ICGN’s global role in championing corporate governance best practices which underpin long-term value creation.”
Cassandra Lichnock, CEO, California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) said:
“As a long-serving executive in the world’s largest educator-only pension fund, I believe my experiences will provide a unique point of view and perspective to ICGN and its members. I have seen first-hand how challenging the companies we are invested in to incorporate strong corporate governance practices enable them to meet today’s challenges and create opportunities to innovate.”
ICGN noted thanks to three outgoing Governors for their considerable contributions to the work of the ICGN and the Board: Christine Chow and Dan Konigsburg who reached their maximum terms as ICGN Directors at the AGM and Theresa Taylor who stepped down earlier this year.
Commenting on the ICGN Board elections this year the Chair of the ICGN Nomination Committee Paul Schneider said: “Following a rigorous selection process, we’re delighted to welcome these distinguished leaders to the Board. Their experience will further strengthen ICGN’s global governance and stewardship agenda.”
