Global Stewardship Disclosure Winners Announced by ICGN

The winners of the ICGN Global Stewardship Disclosure Awards 2024, which recognise excellence and innovation in public disclosures globally, have been presented today by the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN), an investor-led body with members representing assets under management in excess of $77 trillion.

Anne-Marie Jourdan, chair of the ICGN Awards Committee said:

“On behalf of the Awards Committee, I am pleased to congratulate the winners of the ICGN Global Stewardship Disclosure Awards 2024. These awards recognise investors who provide meaningful disclosure of their stewardship policies and transparency in their reporting. This year includes truly global investors, who are engaging in stewardship disclosure we see as good practice that other investors may wish to consider.”

All the shortlisted investors demonstrated a global approach to integrating investor stewardship into high quality reporting, transparency of voting statistics and disclosure of the funds’ investment strategies. They all deserve recognition for their work and the Awards Committee noted the challenge of selecting winners, given the high standard.

Announcing the winners, Jen Sisson, ICGN’s CEO, said:

“Effective stewardship enhances overall financial market stability and economic growth, focusing on long-term value creation, and is an example of the constructive dialogue we want to see more of between boards and shareholders. ICGN is pleased to showcase the work being done to advance stewardship – an important part of an investor’s responsibilities on behalf of their clients and beneficiaries – around the world. Congratulations to the worthy winners of these Awards!”

The winners and commendations in each of the categories are:

Asset Owners £60 billion and above AUM

  • Winner: Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), Norway
  • Commendation: Dai-ichi Life Insurance Company Ltd., Japan

Asset Owners under £60 billion AUM

  • Winner: Railpen, UK
  • Commendation: Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), Malaysia

Asset Managers £60 billion and over AUM

  • Winner: Schroders Investment Management (Schroders), UK

Asset Managers under £60 billion AUM

  • Winner: Sarasin & Partners LLP, UK

Winners were announced during an Awards Ceremony held as part of the ICGN Global Stewardship Forum and AGM, on Thursday, 26 September 2024.

Global Stewardship Disclosure Winners Announced by ICGN

Will co-leads the climate change theme at EOS, the stewardship arm of Federated Hermes Limited, where his coverage includes companies in Europe and Australia, primarily financial services, energy, chemicals, and materials. Prior to joining EOS, Will worked in the energy and infrastructure investment banking team at Macquarie Capital, where he specialised in renewable energy. Before that, Will held a number of roles across the UK climate policy space, including as a parliamentary researcher for Rt. Hon. Chris Skidmore MP on climate and energy issues, and as a climate and economic policy analyst at a diplomatic institute. He was appointed as a voluntary adviser to Rt. Hon. Alok Sharma MP, President of COP26, on preparations for COP26 after co-founding a Westminster climate policy group in 2019, which engaged MPs and Members of the House of Lords to advocate for more ambition on climate action in public policy. Will has a Bachelor’s degree (1st Class Honours) in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
