The International Corporate Governance Network’s (ICGN) is pleased to congratulate the winners of the 2024 ICGN Achievement Awards, which recognise and celebrate excellence in corporate governance and investor stewardship.

Led by investors responsible for assets under management of around US$77 trillion, ICGN advances the highest standards of corporate governance and investor stewardship worldwide in pursuit of long-term value creation, contributing to sustainable economies, societies, and the environment.

A record number of nominations was received this year and a global shortlist of nominees was created by our Awards Committee and reviewed by independent judging panels. After careful consideration, the following winners were presented with their Awards on 16 July in a ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel, London:

Rising Star Award – to recognise an individual in the early stages of their careers in corporate governance or stewardship who has already made a valuable contribution, and demonstrated the potential to be a future leader

• Yu-Ting Fu, Corporate Governance Analyst, APAC​, Columbia Threadneedle Investments, UK

Excellence in Corporate Governance Award – to recognise individuals, organisations, and collaborative initiatives whose actions have contributed significantly to making effective corporate governance a reality in the markets in which they operate.

• Charles (Chuck) Canfield, Principal Corporate Governance Officer, International Finance Corporation, USA

Excellence in Stewardship Award – to recognise individuals, organisations, and collaborative initiatives whose actions have contributed significantly to making effective stewardship a reality in the markets in which they operate.

• Federated Hermes EOS, the Methane Emissions Team (led by Diana Glassman), a global organization

Lifetime Achievement Awards – to recognise individuals who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in the field of corporate governance over an extended period of time.

• Dr. Guo Peiyuan (China), Chairman, China Sustainable Investment Forum and SynTao Green Finance
• Sandra Guerra (Brazil), Founder and CEO, Better Governance
• Philip Armstrong (South Africa), Independent Non-Executive Director, The Hawkamah Institute for Corporate Governance

The ICGN Board of Governors also named Robert Augustus Gardner “Bob” Monks as a recipient of the ICGN Lifetime Achievement Award; Richard Bennett of ValueEdge Advisors LLP accepted the Award on Bob’s behalf.
