Chris Adachi, Director of Climate and Nature, joined Teck in 2009. Chris’ work at Teck focuses on a spectrum of issues related to Climate Change and Nature, including policies and regulations, public reporting and disclosure, and Teck’s strategies for achieving net-zero GHG emissions and securing a Net Positive Impact on biodiversity. Chris has been a member of the Mining Association of British Columbia’s Climate Action Working Group, the Mining Association of Canada’s Climate Change Working Group, and the International Council of Mining and Metal’s Climate Change Task Force and Nature Working Group, and the World Economic Forum’s Champions for Nature group. Chris holds a Bachelors of Arts from McMaster University, a Master of Forestry from UBC, and a Master of Environmental Studies from the University of Waterloo.
 

Pete has over 14 years of experience within the corporate governance and investment stewardship space. In terms of day-to-day practice, this work has included proxy voting policy development and research and company engagement. Pete currently collaborates across functions to draft public facing reports for clients and other stakeholders covering investment stewardship and sustainability while leading initiatives to review and enhance firm governance and policy infrastructure. Pete also contributes to internal and industry group responses to regulatory consultations as well as stewardship and governance code consultations.

Brian Kernohan is Chief Sustainability Officer for Manulife Investment Management.​

Brian is responsible for overseeing the global sustainability platform for Manulife Investment Management’s private and public markets businesses. This spans timberland, agriculture, real estate, infrastructure, private equity, and private credit as well as public markets’ equity, fixed income, and multi-asset strategies. Brian is accountable for sustainability strategy, developing internal sustainable investing policies and compliance mechanisms across Manulife Investment Management. He also supports regulatory affairs and reporting on sustainability matters.​

Previously, Brian was chief sustainability officer for Manulife Investment Management’s private markets business and before that he was the chief sustainability officer at Hancock Natural Resource Group, Manulife’s timberland and agriculture business. Prior to joining the firm, he was director of policy at Forest Capital Partners, where he was responsible for a variety of programs, including forest certification, forest policy, government affairs, public relations, conservation transactions, and ecology support.​

Brian represents Manulife Investment Management on several external groups and committees and he holds the Certified Wildlife Biologist designation from The Wildlife Society, a B.S., Wildlife Ecology from Michigan State University, and a M.S., Wildlife Management from South Dakota State University.

Ramiya is an analyst on Manulife Investment Management’s sustainability team, specializing in proxy voting, stewardship initiatives, and reporting. Her primary responsibilities include executing and managing the firm’s proxy voting policy and procedures, providing proxy analysis to the investment teams, tracking engagements, and developing content for sustainability reports. Before joining the sustainability team, she served as a distribution compliance analyst at the firm, where she was responsible for reviewing marketing materials and sales communications for institutional business lines to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, with a focus on ESG disclosure requirements. Prior to her tenure at Manulife Investment Management, she was a compliance analyst at IA Clarington Investments, concentrating on marketing materials, sales, and other fund-related communications.

Mike Pedersen is a Corporate Director who serves on the boards of CGI Group, AtkinsRéalis, and Nature Conservancy of Canada.  He is also Chair of the Advisory Committee of the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation at the University of Waterloo and a member of the Global Risk Institute’s Sustainable Finance Advisory Committee. 

Mike was Chair of the Board of the Business Development Bank of Canada from 2018 to 2023.  Prior to that he was President and CEO of TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank, a top ten bank in the United States.  He held senior leadership roles in financial services around the world for 35 years and is a former Chair of the Canadian Bankers Association.

Mike has a long and ongoing involvement with charitable organizations focused on nature, the environment, and social services.

He graduated from University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and from University of Toronto with a Master of Industrial Relations degree.

Mike lives in Toronto with his wife Martha.  They have three adult children.

Jen is the CEO of the International Corporate Governance Network (ICGN).

Led by investors with AUM of over $US 100 trillion, ICGN aims to strengthen markets and create long term value through effective corporate governance policy and practice. Jen represents ICGN on the Japanese Financial Services Agency’s Council of Experts and on the IFIAR stakeholder working group and the PCAOB IAG.

Jen joined ICGN from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she was EMEA Head of Stewardship, driving engagement, proxy voting and industry collaboration efforts. In that role, Jen was a member of the Investment Association Company Reporting and Auditing Group and the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) Investor Advisory Committee. In 2022 Jen was also a member of the US Council of Institutional Investors Corporate Governance Advisory Council.

Previously, Jen was Deputy Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs at the UK Financial Reporting Council, responsible for coordinating outreach with the global investment community, listed company leadership teams and board members across all areas of the regulator’s scope. Jen led policy outreach on ESG, audit and reporting matters including the creation of the 2020 UK Stewardship Code and the 2018 UK Corporate Governance Code.

Jen started her career at PwC.

Jen holds a BA in Business, Accounting and Finance from the University of Newcastle and a Masters in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Cambridge.
