Judging Process
All entries are reviewed through a rigorous and independent judging process designed to ensure fairness, transparency and consistency across all award categories.
The process begins with an eligibility and due diligence review conducted by the ICGN Secretariat to ensure submissions meet the relevant award criteria. Eligible entries are then independently assessed by a panel of experts drawn from the fields of corporate governance, stewardship, investment, regulation and academia.
Following the independent assessment, the highest-scoring entries are shortlisted for each category. The shortlisted nominations are reviewed by the independent judging panels, which make recommendations to the ICGN Awards Committee.
The ICGN Awards Committee reviews the recommendations and is responsible for making the final decision on all award winners.
The judging process includes:
- Eligibility and due diligence review
- Independent scoring and assessment
- Shortlisting of nominees
- Review and recommendations from the independent judging panels
- Final decision by the ICGN Awards Committee
- Announcement of finalists and winners
All judges and Awards Committee members are required to declare any conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the assessment of any category where a conflict exists.
This version removes the duplication between the two previous award programmes while still acknowledging the important governance role of the ICGN Awards Committee and the independent judging panels. It also feels more polished and appropriate for a prestigious awards page.
