Hirotaka joined KPMG AZSA LLC in 2007 as a partner. In 2008, he was seconded to KPMG IFRG in the UK for three years, where he was involved in the preparation of KPMG’s accounting guidance based on IFRS® standards. Subsequently, he served as an audit engagement partner and supported the implementation of IFRS accounting standards for global companies. Hirotaka has served as a member of the Global IFRS Panel and as well as the Head of Quality Management, and in 2019, he was appointed as Executive Officer. Currently, he serves as the Head of the Life Sciences Division. As of July 2023, he is also the Senior Executive Board Member overseeing the areas of Digital Transformation and Sustainability, and the Head of KPMG Sustainable Value Services Japan, overseeing KPMG Japan’s sustainability assurance and ESG-related services.

2007年 有限責任 あずさ監査法人に加入、パートナーに就任。2008年より3年間、KPMG IFRG（UK）に赴任し、KPMGのIFRS®会計基準ガイダンスの作成、IFRS会計基準コンサルテーションに従事。その後、グローバル企業へのIFRS会計基準導入支援および監査責任者を歴任。Global IFRS Panelメンバー、品質管理本部長を歴任し、2019年常務執行理事就任。ライフサイエンス部門の統轄責任者（現職）に就任し、2023年7月より、デジタルトランスフォーメーションならびにサステナビリティ領域を統轄する専務理事（現職）、およびKPMGジャパンのサステナビリティ・ESGに関するサービスを統轄するKPMGサステナブルバリューサービス・ジャパン代表（現職）に就任。
