PierMarco Barzaghi

PierMario is the Partner Responsible for ESG Services at KPMG in Italy. He has worked in the field of sustainability since 1997 and is an expert in the assurance of non-financial information, with extensive experience in sustainability reporting projects and integrated reporting.

As representative for the Italian Accounting Organization (Organismo Italiano di Contabilità − OIC), PierMario is a member of the EFRAG FR TEG (European Financia Reporting Advisory Group Financial Reporting Technical Expert Group), the body responsible for the development of European Sustainability Standards.

He is also a member of KPMG in Italy’s ETS Foundation, the ESG International Strategic Board, the EMA ESG KPMG Steering Committee, and the Sustainability Committee of ASSIREVI (the Italian Association of Audit Companies).

Thanks to his role, skills, and experience, PierMario provides guidance on the interpretation of reporting requirements, drawing on market insights, interpretations from audit standard-setting bodies, and interactions with standard setters.

PierMario is one of the promoters and founding members of GBS (a Social Reporting Study Group), a member of the Steering Committee (Comitato scientifico) of the Graduate School of Sustainable Management (ALTIS) at Università Cattolica, and a member of Confindustria’s CSR technical group. He has also served as Vice President of Social Value Italia.

PierMario holds a Masters in Sustainability from LIUC University.

PierMario is the author of numerous articles on sustainability, published in leading Italian newspapers and in IlSole24Ore’s “Bilancio e non-financial reporting” periodical.

Will co-leads the climate change theme at EOS, the stewardship arm of Federated Hermes Limited, where his coverage includes companies in Europe and Australia, primarily financial services, energy, chemicals, and materials. Prior to joining EOS, Will worked in the energy and infrastructure investment banking team at Macquarie Capital, where he specialised in renewable energy. Before that, Will held a number of roles across the UK climate policy space, including as a parliamentary researcher for Rt. Hon. Chris Skidmore MP on climate and energy issues, and as a climate and economic policy analyst at a diplomatic institute. He was appointed as a voluntary adviser to Rt. Hon. Alok Sharma MP, President of COP26, on preparations for COP26 after co-founding a Westminster climate policy group in 2019, which engaged MPs and Members of the House of Lords to advocate for more ambition on climate action in public policy. Will has a Bachelor’s degree (1st Class Honours) in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
